Contribute to our Fund A Sailor Scholarship program to help us take more kids on the water.
Since 2014 Lake Superior Tall Ships Inc. has been providing positive, life-changing outdoor sailing adventures to kids and adults in the Apostle Islands/Chequamegon Bay area aboard the Schooner Abbey Road.
Our trips are “Un-plugged” experiential learning voyages. Teamwork is required which fosters acceptance of others, cultivates personal responsibility and helps develop leadership skills. Longer trips can be physically and emotionally challenging for some participants—although not dangerous. As controlled risks are overcome by participants they discover hidden strengths, acquire new skills and increase self-confidence. We are very proud that we’ve had over 5,000 participants onboard the Abbey Road and Zeeto
We know that sailing on a Tall Ship on Lake Superior will not cure cancer, feed the hungry, or house the homeless. But our hope is that kids who sail with us will be inspired to do great things in the future because they were able to see the world and themselves a little differently from the deck of a schooner.
Your contribution will help us provide a unique sailing experience to young men and women for little or no cost to them.

While revenue generating charters sustain approximately one half of our operating budget, annual membership contributions allow us to offer scholarships to youth from all walks of life.

$1000 Helps a Youth Group Discover the Apostle Islands
$500 Gets a Whole Classroom Out On the Water
$250 Gives Six Kids an Adventure They Won't Forget
$150 Lets Two Kids Experience Lake Superior
$ 75 Sends One Kid Out On a Half-Day Sail

Get Involved by Volunteering
Does the idea of helping kids get out on the water appeal to you? We'll, we need your assistance, and your volunteer time will make a difference!
We accept volunteers of all skill levels with opportunities in the following areas: fundraising, education, media, photography, and special events. Volunteers with experience in painting, varnishing, and general vessel maintenance will be needed on an ongoing basis.
Whether you can pitch in on a regular basis, or you're just able to lend a hand for a single event, a rewarding and invaluable experience awaits you. Volunteers will have many opportunities to sail with us.
